ANOTHER school on the Isle of Wight has confirmed a case of coronavirus today (Friday).

Medina College wrote to parents to confirm another member of the faculty had tested positive for Covid-19.

This follows previous news of a year 11 student at the college testing positive for the virus on November 7.

A statement from Medina College said: "Executive Headteacher, Matthew Parr-Burman, has confirmed that a member of the Medina College community has tested positive for Covid-19.

"The school has rigorously followed the advice of Public Health England, accessed through the Department for Education official advice service, and any affected persons are following official guidance.

"(This) includes self-isolating for the necessary periods as directed.

"In the circumstances, due to the timeframes involved since the person with the positive test result was last in school, Public Health England has advised no further action is required and that parents and families can be reassured all recommended precautionary actions have been taken.

"No further action is required from parents or families of any children that attend the school."
