ISLE of Wight Police have received several reports of rat poison and corn being placed on the paths around the Marks Corner section of Parkhurst Forest.

This has led to one dog being poisoned and has caused the animal immense pain and suffering.

There are numerous offences under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, the Protection of Animals Act 1911 and the Animal Welfare Act 2006 relating to placing this poison.

A Totland taxi driver first reported the animal being in danger.
