So all of the major supermarkets are to enforce the wearing of face masks, and about time too.

However I have a word of advice for Lidl, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, Waitrose and Sainsburys, and it is this.

Before you start enforcing regulations on customers, get your own house in order and enforce the wearing of face masks by all of your staff!

And I do not mean a perspex screen, which is of little of no effect.

With the exception of Sainsburys, I regularly encounter staff without a face mask or visor in these stores, particular Asda.

Customers also need protection, so get your act together.

As for "medical" reasons for not wearing a face mask, I feel that this is just an excuse as face masks are breathable and I know of elderly people with asthma who still wear a face mask.

If staff and customers have any reason for not wearing a face mask then they should stay out of supermarkets and do their shopping from home for there are several charitable organisations who will collect shopping, medication etc, apart from home delivery and click and collect by supermarkets.
