Five more Islanders have died from Covid-19 in the community, according to data published today (Tuesday).

Four deaths in care homes have been recorded, alongside one at home.

Three of those deaths were in the week to January 15.

The data is published separately to deaths in hospital.

It means that, since the start of the pandemic, 54 people have died in care homes on the Isle of Wight.

Four people have died at home and one person has died in the hospice.

Including hospital deaths, 165 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus, or where it is mentioned on their death certificate.
