A WOMAN from the Isle of Wight is taking part in a half marathon this weekend to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Seaview based Monique Lucas runs a fully sustainable, Island inspired homeware brand online, and wanted to find a way to raise money for a cause close to her heart.

She said: "I will be running 13 miles across the Isle of Wight to raise money for WWF on Sunday.

"I believe in a more sustainable future and am hopeful we will get there. I try to do as much as I can to live more sustainably and educate myself on different ways to help causes such as WWF.

"I hope by showing my dedication to running 13 miles for this cause I might inspire others to do the same."

In the past Monique has donated funds to charities such as Blue Dot Generation and Project Zero.

She hopes to partner with more ocean and wildlife based charities as her brand expands and aims to build a platform to engage and encourage others to do so.

Monique has so far raised £265 of her £1,000 target, and those wishing to donate to the cause can do so through her JustGiving page.
