THE Isle of Wight's rolling average for Covid cases has fallen below 50, per 100,000 people.

The rate of new cases has fallen significantly since January's peak, and just two people were confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus, according to today's (Tuesday's) data.

It brings the total of confirmed Covid-19 cases on the Island, since the start of the pandemic, to 6,619.

The Island's seven day rolling average is now well below the rate for the rest of the country.

There were 49.4 per 100,000 in the seven days to February 18. The UK rate is 119.
