THE adventures of Groovy Grandad are continuing — in a new book.

Author Margaret Young has written and published a sequel, Groovy Grandad Comes to the Rescue, after the success of the first book.

The second book continues and develops on the themes introduced in the first.

In the second book Archie has the confidence to return to school and deal with any potential bullying but is determined to make a difference.

Life is good for him — then Mum has an accident but Grandad Comes to the Rescue and another adventure begins.

Margaret has been able to return to Josselin in France, the setting for the story, and introduce Groovy Grandad there.

She was photographed in the spot that inspired Isle of Wight artist Maria Ward’s illustration for the cover of the second book.

On Saturday, October 9, Margaret will be reading extracts from both stories at Lord Louis Library in Newport, from 10am.

She will also be signing copies of the books, which will be on sale on the day.

Both books are now available from Waterstones and online from Amazon, Waterstones, Blackwell’s and Foyles.

Margaret has teamed up with the County Press to offer the chance for one lucky reader to win a copy of both books.
