A PHOTOGRAPHER has been spared a driving ban as it would impact on his ability to work.

Christopher Jelf, 47, of High Street, Seaview, admitted driving without insurance on the A14 in Suffolk, on August 1, 2021.

He also admitted exceeding the 50mph temporary speed limit — by driving at 69mph.

The matter was heard at Ipswich Courthouse earlier this month.

Jelf avoided disqualification by persuading magistrates he needed to drive to be able to work as a photographer all around the country — and he usually drives 25,000 miles a year.

He must pay £110 costs and a £100 victim surcharge. He was fined £1,000 and had his licence endorsed with six penalty points.
