ISLE OF WIGHT schools held their proms and leavers’ parties and events before the end of the summer term and we invited parents to submit photos online of their children dressed up ready for their prom.

We didn’t receive many photos from parents — because most of the schools sent through a selection of pictures from their events — but we did love these!

Katie Jenkins sent through some pictures of the Year 6 leavers’ party at Barton Primary School, Newport.

The prom was held at the school and Katie’s pictures included friends Flossie Backshall, Lacie Buchanan, Ellie Hartnell, Brooke Andrews, Phoenix Jenkins, Chloe Shynn and Lulu Drake, who enjoyed a ride in a limousine before they arrived at the party and also celebrated with non-alcoholic party drinks.

Samantha Scott of Cowes also sent through pictures of Katelyn Collopy, who was a pupil at The Bay Secondary School and went to the school prom at Landguard Manor at the end of June.

Samantha said: “Katelyn is leaving The Bay after five wonderful years!

“Good luck to all the Year 11s and for their final GCSE results in August.”
