The Queen will be remembered at a Special Commemoration Service on the Isle of Wight today (Sunday), with Island residents invited to pay their respects.

On the eve of the State Funeral, the Newport congregation will reflect upon her life and work.

Prayers will be said, both for Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Family.

Led by the Acting Archdeacon of the Isle of Wight, Rev Allie Kerr, His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the Isle of Wight, Mrs Susie Sheldon will be among those to attend.

Mrs Sheldon will also represent the Island at Monday's state funeral, in London.

The choirs of the parish of Newport and Carisbrooke and the Isle of Wight Cantata Choir will all be at the Isle of Wight ceremony.

A minute's silence will be held across the country tonight, at 8pm, as a national moment of reflection in memory of Her Late Majesty.

Meanwhile, the State Funeral will take place at Westminster Abbey on Monday, September 19, at 11am.

There will be a two minute silence, at 11.55am on Monday,
