Regarding Rebecca Roncoroni’s column in last week’s issue (CP print 25-11-22 and online).

How disgusted I was with the absolute rubbish stated in a half-page article by the above.

Most people can claim back the ferry fares when travelling to the mainland for treatment.

We have a fantastic cancer support organisation on the Isle of Wight, Wessex Cancer Trust, which has its centre in Lugley Street, Newport.

The trust is probably best-known to most Isle of Wight residents for the amazing service offered to transport cancer patients to and from both Southampton and Portsmouth hospitals. It is known as the Daisy Bus and meets patients at the ferry terminals to take them to the door at both hospitals.

It is free to use for cancer patients and anyone accompanying them, funded entirely by our Wessex Cancer Trust.
