A NEW Isle of Wight toy shop opened its doors in Freshwater last month, offering convenience to West Wight families as the only dedicated toy store in the area.

Toy Paradise, on School Green Road, offers a range of new and pre-loved toys, vowing to stock products for all budgets while trying to cover all age groups.

Owners Glen Lovegrove and Tiffany Smith, from Totland, had the idea to start a toy shop in Freshwater after realising there are none in the West Wight area.

The store boasts an array of action figures, comics, Pokémon cards, toy vehicles, board games and much more, even offering products for adults like model railways and collectable figures.

Glen told the County Press: “Me and my partner, Tiffany, foundw out there was a space in the market because there are no toy shops over in West Wight, and really, there are not many toy shops that are very good for little ones.

“It’s been really exciting, a new adventure! Me and my partner are loving it. It’s taken me back to my childhood, where I can go and look at all these toys!”

With a little one themselves, the couple said they know how difficult it can be to find toys children will like, so the store offers convenience to people in the area, who would have had to travel to Newport to find their closest toy shop.

Glen added: “We cater to all budgets, we have new and pre-loved, we’ve got a bit of everything really – whatever people are into, and we’re always open to suggestions for what people would like to see in the shop!

“Come and visit us and have a chat! I’m quite knowledgeable about toys, and my partner’s always a friendly face. We’re smiley happy people! Hopefully, you’ll find something you like!”

Toy Paradise is open from 9am – 4.30pm, with an hour break at 1pm, every day except Thursdays and Sundays.
