The family of an Isle of Wight mother, who has been given months to live after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, are hoping to raise thousands of pounds to get her potentially life-saving treatment.

In 2009, after being told she had an ocular melanoma, Susan Bulmer had her left eye removed.

She had stopped treatment, and for 13 years, has been on the road to recovery.

But an annual liver scan in October 2022, revealed the aggressive cancer had returned and metastasised to her liver.

Her daughter, Emma Bella, said this is considered stage four, incurable cancer.

She said her mum has been given just six to 12 months to live.

Susan, who has two daughters and two teenage sons, was offered immunotherapy at Southampton General Hospital.

Sadly, Emma said, the treatment has made her very unwell and her liver was unable to cope and started to fail.

Here's how you can donate to get Susan potentially life-saving treatment:

She said: "To look at my mum, you would never know what she is going through.

"She is 48 years old and she is as healthy and active as she has been her whole life.

"My Mum has so much life to live but is being told there is nothing that can be done to help her."

Emma and her family are hoping Chemosaturation may be the answer.

According to HCA healthcare, the revolutionary treatment works by bathing the liver in chemotherapy, sealing if from the body's blood circulation.

It allows for targeted delivery of anti-cancer drugs at more concentrated doses.

The problem, Emma said, is that it is not available on the NHS and is expensive.

A minimum of £120,000 is needed for three rounds of treatment.

And £80,000 is needed in the next six weeks to start two rounds of treatment, before the cancer progresses too far.

Emma said the family would be "incredibly grateful" for any help.

"Anyone that knows my Mum knows what a beautiful, kind, and lovely person she is", she said.

"We need her here with us. She has so much life to live and love to give."
