An exhibition over the Bank Holiday weekend starts today (Saturday) and features work from two award-winning Isle of Wight artists.

Ceramics by Jane Cox and leather and metal work by Sue Lowday will be showcased at the Echium Gallery, Ventnor Botanic Garden, until Monday, 10am to 4pm each day.

Jane Cox is a Binnel Studios artist specialising in vibrant ceramics, combining elegant shapes with rich translucent glazes.

Emerald blues, greens and turquoises will be on show together with new speckle glazes inspired by the Island shoreline.

Sue Lowday specialises in eco vegetable tanned leathers, exploring the unique properties of moulding and shaping the leather in addition to developing unique colourful dye and textural techniques.

Her work encompasses practical everyday items like belts and bags, ranging through to sculptural formed bags that can be found in museum collections.

Sue is also showing her ethereal metal sculptures inspired by rock formations and the human form.

Both artists work to commission and will be available during the exhibition to discuss their work.
