A female paddleboarder got into difficulty off Shanklin Esplanade earlier today (Sunday).
HM Coastguard was called to reports of a paddleboarder drifting out to sea.
Members of the public raised the alarm.
Teams from Ventnor and Bembridge Coastguard, Bembridge RNLI and Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat attended.

The paddleboarder was helped back to shore by a vessel from Yaverland Sailing Club, HM Coastguard told the County Press.
It's been a busy weekend for rescue teams.
Yesterday (Saturday), crews were called to a woman and a boy blown out to sea on an inflatable.
The incident prompted a coastguard warning over the dangers of using inflatables at sea.
