A free to enter Sustainable Fair is being held at Stitch Department in Ryde.
The event will take place from 10am to 6pm on Friday, August 4.
There will be speakers, kids workshops, family sewing workshops and stalls from south coast businesses all encompassing ethos of sustainable living.
The event is free to attend, browse, and listen to talks. The workshops are £5 to attend and bookable through Eventbrite.
Stitch Department is a not for profit organisation that strives for a more sustainable lifestyle, focusing on mending, textile waste streams, pushing away from fast fashion and prevention from landfill.
Family sewing workshops will have the theme of endangered animals, with a morning session from 10am to 12pm, and an afternoon session from 1pm to 3pm.
Speakers are Liz Cooke (Protecting our oceans, art and activism), Maeve Smith (What is sustainable self care?), Tracey Simmonds (Scenting your home with your health and the environment in mind) and Ian Boyd (Mending The Public Fabric – stitching sustainability back into place).
Workshops include essential oil shower sprinkles and lip balm making, playing with plants and pigments, an upcycling workshop, and making flags and bunting from upcycled fabric.
There will also be stalls from South Coast businesses with sustainability at the heart of everything they do.
