Visitors to an Isle of Wight seafront may have noticed people wearing orange overalls and part of the beach taped off this afternoon (Tuesday).

Pictures show workers in white hard hats and plenty of equipment laid out on the stones in East Cowes.

But don't worry — the County Press has been assured there is no incident.

The team from Oil Spill Response Limited, from Southampton, is on the Esplanade.

Teams are conducting training exercises, to test response capabilities.

This is done regularly to ensure plans, people, equipment and systems are tested.

The company said doing so enables it to help organisations improve skills, in the event of an oil spill or pollution emergency.

Response teams are carrying out exercises throughout the week, so don't be alarmed if you see them again.
