An Isle of Wight family are the stars in a new television programme on Channel 5.

The Cruise: Fun-Loving Brits at Sea features three groups of holidaymakers, exploring the Mediterranean's most glamourous spots.

One of the groups is Niton family, Katie and Rob Walker-Green, with children Noah, who was nine at the time of filming and is now ten, and Maisie, who was six and is now seven.

They started their adventure by exploring Rome before boarding The Princess Royal and cruising past the most opulent locations in the Mediterranean.

Over the course of a week at sea, television viewers can follow the highs and lows of life at sea and get to experience beautiful locales, treats and tipples, as well as the culture and commerce of every place they stop.

But will things get worse at sea, or will everything go smoothly?

The Walker-Greens describe themselves as "home ed and vegans".

They applied to an advert online looking for people who would like to cruise the Med and considered themselves lucky to have been chosen.

Katie said: "We are on TV all this week. We were filmed for the Channel 5 documentary this time last year and it’s being aired at 4pm on Channel 5 every day this week."

The first programme in the series aired today (Monday).

Katie told the County Press: "We had no idea that we would have such an amazing adventure! The children and indeed us too learnt so much and we all had such a brilliant time.

"The gladiator training was a great first activity, but wait until you see what else we get up to!"
