Islanders will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Isle of Wight's Osborne House in a new TV documentary airing tonight (Saturday).

Osborne House: A Royal Retreat has been made by Yeti Television and broadcasts on Channel 5.

The documentary gives 'intimate access' to the house and gardens and also features interviews with experts and Osborne staff.

Filming took place at the English Heritage site earlier this year.

Christopher Warleigh-Lack, Curator of Collections and Interiors, is among those who will feature.

He told the County Press it was a 'privilege' to take part and have the cameras at the historic house.

He said: "Osborne holds so many rich stories, not just of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s family life here, but of its later history, and how English Heritage work behind-the-scenes to help keep the house and grounds enjoyable and enthralling to visitors.
