The Isle of Wight Council's lead for education and corporate services, Cllr Jonathan Bacon, is to represent the Island at the third Islands Forum.

It is taking place in Scotland's Isle of Lewis today (Monday) and tomorrow.

The forum will be chaired by MP Michael Gove and will focus on connectivity, recognising the importance of physical and digital connectivity for islands, particularly those which, like the Isle of Wight, have no fixed links to the mainland.

October’s forum follows similar gatherings in Orkney in September 2022 and on the Isle of Wight in May, where members agreed to collaborate further on net zero and skills.
