It was a Bonfire Night to remember on the Isle of Wight - the sky ablaze with the Northern Lights!

Jess Claridge Law, of Cowes, took these incredible photos of Aurora Borealis on an iPhone 12.

Jess tracks the possibility of seeing the lights on AuroraWatch and Aurora apps.

She said: "After receiving notifications from the Aurora UK app that there had been a strong CME (coronal mass ejection), we ran down to the seafront looking North North West.

"Five minutes turned into two hours, in the cold! We saw them in Iceland earlier this year, but we never expected to see them from the Island!"

Jess said there may be a chance of seeing them over the next couple of nights too.

It's not the first time the phenomenon has been spotted from the Island, although rare.

The County Press reported in February when Mark Cooper got some shots of the lights from Freshwater.

Usually, people travel as far north as Scotland, Norway and Iceland to spot the lights, so it is quite the sight to see them so far south.

If you saw the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) from the Isle of Wight, we would love to see your photos and share them.
