Some houses in the Whitwell and Ventnor areas have been without water this afternoon (Sunday), after bust water main on the Isle of Wight.
Supplier Southern Water says its teams are carrying out urgent repairs after the earlier problem on Whitwell Road.
The PO38 1LJ area would be hit by short interruptions and pressure changes, it said.
One eye witness said a pot hole had been created, near Paradise Walk.
Southern Water said: "We’re really sorry for any inconvenience this might cause.
"We aim to complete these repairs as soon as possible.
"When your water comes back on, you may notice some minor discolouration or low pressure. This is completely normal and is only temporary."
