One person has been taken to hospital after fire ripped through a house in Brading last night.
The road through the village remains closed this morning (Friday).
Firefighters were called from the mainland to assist with the blaze, on New Road.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said residents in neighbouring homes had been evacuated for safety.
The fire service said it was initially alerted at 2.30am.

Six pumps, from Freshwater, Ventnor, Sandown, Ryde and Newport, attended.
Crews were also drafted in from Havant and Southsea.
A 60-year-old man has been taken to hospital.
Two pumps remain at the scene.
