AN APPEAL has been launched by the University of Plymouth to locate an important piece of marine monitoring equipment being used off the Isle of Wight.
Dr Alice Hall, a postgraduate research fellow at the university, whose research includes ecological enhancement of artificial structures, marine monitoring and fish telemetry, was using the equipment, an acoustic receiver, off the Island's west coast.
The receiver, which detects fish and sharks researchers have been tagging around the Island, came loose from its position on the seabed.
