An Isle of Wight diving club is inviting new members to sign up and explore the waters around the Island and further afield.

Wight Dolphins, the local branch of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), currently has over 40 members with a range of experience.

From absolute beginners to highly-qualified divers, the club offers a variety of different sessions and describes itself as friendly and sociable.

Regular shore dives and diving from the club boat, both around the Island and mainland locations, are available with the club and in the past, members have taken many amazing underwater snaps.

It also arranges trips around the UK and abroad. This year, trips to Lundy Island and Malta are being organised and last year members went to Egypt for a week's diving in the Red Sea.

Next year the club turns 50 and to mark the anniversary, a trip to Mexico is being planned for members and non-diving family members.

Jan Fletcher, from Wight Dolphins, said: "Ultimately we are seeking to encourage people to join the club and experience for themselves the amazing underwater world that surrounds us.

"I have provided just a few of the many stunning underwater photos that club members have taken over the years and as you can see the colours and breadth of marine life in the sea around the Island alone is incredible and probably unexpected to those that have never experienced it."
