Bomb disposal teams have been investigating a suspicious item discovered on a popular Isle of Wight beach this morning (Tuesday, April 23).
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 7.58am after a member of the public found what appeared to be a piece of ordnance on the beach at Seagrove Bay in Seaview.
A section of the beach was closed off while the Portsmouth-based Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team travelled to the Island.
Upon arrival, the specialists began to investigate the discovery.
A police spokesperson confirmed to the County Press that the bomb disposal team have established the item was not any form of ordnance.
