The 11-a-side Workwear Island Charity Football Match involved players from over 40 Island businesses on Sunday (May 26) and sought to raise funds to aid Mountbatten’s vital services.
Ellie Moore, founder of the local printing firm Workwear Island, got the game underway at 2pm by sounding the whistle.
Held at Brading Football Club, the game saw the Red Team, with Bob Seely between the sticks, take on the White Team.
Both teams featured staff at businesses, including The Castle and Wheatsheaf Pubs in Newport, Wight Glaze, Ryde Taxis, Birdham Bembridge, Football Fun Factory and many more.
At the final whistle, the White Team were crowned winners in a resounding 6-4 victory, with the charity match surpassing its £3,000 fundraising target.
The event brought fun for all ages, with additional attractions, including a live DJ and inflatable football games for children.
