ISLAND Roads carried out temporary surface repairs on an Isle of Wight road earlier this week – with a view to carrying out an excavation at a later date.
The repairs, on Atherley Road in Shanklin, were carried out for safety reasons.
The next step, Island Roads says, is to carry out an excavation.
This will allow them to establish what is causing potholes to appear in the road and plan the most suitable permanent repairs.
“Whilst planning and undertaking these works, we can assure residents that we will be mindful of the need to minimise disruption in what is a busy road,” said a spokesperson for Island Roads.
