The sailor was seen falling out of their yacht as it rounded the southern tip of the Isle of Wight yesterday morning (Saturday, June 15).
Thankfully, witnesses on land saw the vessel turn back around and pull their crewmate back onboard.
Photographer Caitlin D'Arcy captured the moment from St Catherine’s Point in Niton.
Also ready, with his lens aimed on the Channel, was Neil Williams, who is offering a free print of his image to the sailor.
In a post on Facebook, Neil said: “If this was you today… the rest of your life is a bonus.
“Claim a free print of this… Say hello.”
Meanwhile, a yacht with eight people onboard had to be towed to safety after losing steering on the starting line in Cowes.
Later in the afternoon, another yacht – carrying seven people – lost its steering gear at the finish line.
In both cases, the yachts were towed to Trinity Landing by crews from Cowes Lifeboat.
