INDIE band Apollo Junction launched Saturday's opening show on the Isle of Wight Festival Main Stage with an energetic performance.

The combo, which hails from Leeds, got the huge Seaclose Park crowd warmed up for the afternoon ahead.

Apollo Junction has played the Isle of Wight Festival before — and love it.

The band's drummer, Jonathan Thornton, said in a pre-festival interview: "My favourite gig was our first time at the Isle of Wight.

"We walked out to a reasonably busy crowd, but by the time we finished, the whole arena area was rammed and it just felt surreal.

"The weather was amazing, the vibe on stage was incredible and, most importantly, the crowd was just buzzing. We live for those moments."
