The new store, found at the former BrightHouse building on the corner of the High Street and St James’ Street, opened at 10am today (Tuesday, June 25).
The shop, next to JD Sports, has been sat empty for five years.
Inside the Tesco Express store, you will find fresh and frozen food, drinks, household essentials and more – but do not forget to collect your Clubcard points!
As previously reported, the supermarket revealed plans to move to the high street building in February after initially wanting to move into the former Laura Ashley store.
Newport’s Tesco Express is open from 6am to 11pm daily, including weekends.
Speaking to the County Press last month, a spokesperson for Tesco said: "We’re always looking for the best ways to serve local communities and are excited to be opening a new Tesco Express store in Newport on the Isle of Wight."
