Ryde School's sailing team finished their season triumphantly, hosting the biggest ever BSDRA Team Racing Finals in the event's history.
The international competition saw over 50 teams compete, including contingents from China, US and Ireland.
The Ryde School's main team finished second overall, clinching the title of BSDRA Team Racing Champions.
The school's junior team landed third place in their fleet, against formidable competition.
The team also took part in the National Youth Match Racing championships in Weymouth, a non-school event.
Against all odds, they emerged victorious, sealing the U23 National Match Racing Champion title.
The team they defeated were composed of three current national champions and had an unbeaten track record throughout the weekend.
This extraordinary achievement has now qualified the Ryde School team for the Match Racing World Championships in Jeddah this November.
Earlier in the season, Ryde School also won the Schools’ Fleet Racing Championships, marking a unique triple victory that they say no other school on record has accomplished.
Will Turner, headteacher, said: "These recent two events have capped off an amazing season for our sailors. To have been so successful across the year is a testament to the teamwork, dedication and ambition of our elite sailors and the fantastic staff who support them. They are a credit to themselves and our school."
