The Isle of Wight has joined in with thousands of people across the UK for International Skinny Dip Day 2024.

An official day in the UK’s event calendar, Skinny Dip Day, held on the second Saturday of July, is ‘an experience, a fundraiser, a movement,’ says organisers.

Skinny Dip Day is an excuse to get out of your comfort zone for courage, confidence, joy and acceptance of yourself and others.

Early this morning (Saturday, July 12), skinny dippers on the Isle of Wight took to the sea at Freshwater Bay.

Unsurprisingly, International Skinny Dip Day also wraps up Nude Recreation Week.

Interest in naturism is growing like never before, with more people understanding the health and well-being benefits, according to British Naturism.

More Island events are expected later this year, with Yaverland being a venue for the Great British Skinny Dip in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
