A popular Isle of Wight holiday park has confirmed it is bringing its fireworks back for Cowes Week 2024.

Waverley Park Holiday Centre, in East Cowes, will put on its display on Friday, August 2.

Julian Adams, owner of the park, told the County Press he wants to "keep the tradition alive".

The last time the official Cowes Week fireworks display went ahead was in 2019, when Red Funnel sponsored.

The following year the regatta was cancelled due to Covid and, when it returned in 2022, fireworks and the Red Arrows were not part of the entertainment.

Julian is asking anyone who would like to contribute to make the display even bigger and better, to get in touch.

He said: "Obviously our display pales in comparison with the large barge displays of previous years.

"I can assure you that any donation you make would go directly to extending the display and not used to offset our costs."

The display is best seen from the holiday park and can also be viewed from Cowes seafront.

It will take to the skies from the Waverley at 9.30pm on the evening.

Donations to extend the display can be made by contacting the Waverley on (01983) 293452.

Cowes Week returns from July 27 to August 2.
