TWO residential properties on the Isle of Wight have gone under the hammer this month.
The properties were among 165 lots listed by Clive Emson Auctioneers across England in its July auction.
A one-bedroom ground floor flat in North Road, Shanklin, has sold in auction for £80,000.
With off-road parking, the flat has been on a 999-year lease since 1988, at a ground rental of £20 per year.
With a courtyard-style garden, the property is said to be in need of “upgrading and refurbishment”. Joint agents were Arthur Wheeler.
Also, a former council works depot, on 0.76 acres of land at Victoria Crescent, Ryde, sold prior to auction.
It has planning permission for five houses, which had a freehold guide price of £150,000-plus. Joint auctioneers were Scotcher & Co.
In all, there were 17 lots up for auction on the Island in July.
Of the 15 which did not sell, it is too early to say how many of them will be relisted for the next auction, say Clive Emson.
Bidding at the firm's next auction — the sixth of eight planned for this year — is live from September 16, which will conclude 48 hours later.
The deadline for lot entries is August 27, with the catalogue live from August 31.
