Despite bad weather raining on the parade and cancelling the evening's fireworks, Islanders young and old turned out for the daytime events on Thursday.
At the new venue of Hope Hill beach and car park, the market street opened at 10am.
From then onwards, there was a mix of shore sports including a tug of war competition, children's egg and spoon, sack, and three legged races.
There were plenty of smiles as Shanklin mayor, Sara Sheath, handed out medals and trophies.
At around 2.30pm, rain put paid to the rest of the day's events.
Posting on Facebook, organisers said: "This time around the weather was really not on our side and as much as it hurts us to say, that's life — we do not have any control over the weather.
"No one feels this as much as we do after all the time, effort and funds that have gone in the regatta.
"We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who turned up to support our little event."
Preparations for next year's regatta begin in October.
