July was not only another successful month online for your newspaper, the Isle of Wight County Press - it was a record breaker.
The newsroom recorded its best month yet for online stats - meaning more readers than ever before are reading countypress.co.uk for trusted local news.
Not only is the County Press the most visited news website on the Isle of Wight, but is also the highest in page views too, recording 2.05 million visits in July (source: SimilarWeb).
The figures were bolstered by the County Press's comprehensive General Election coverage and video interviews with all prospective parliamentary candidates.
August is also off to a brilliant start, with Wednesday (August 7) seeing the highest visitor numbers in a single day ever for the County Press.
In addition to our online growth, the print newspaper continues to be a popular purchase each week.
The paper is the biggest selling local weekly newspaper in the entire country.
The newsroom has been recruiting, with a new local democracy reporter and digital reporter joining the team.
On March 26, the County Press was commended at the prestigious 2024 Newspaper Awards in London.
The paper, in its 140th year, was shortlisted for the local weekly newspaper of the year award for the second year running.
