A driver involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Isle of Wight yesterday evening (Saturday, August 18) is understood to have fled the scene of the incident.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were alerted to reports of a two-vehicle collision in Whitwell at around 9.45pm.
The crash happened at the junction of Kemming Road, High Street and Ventnor Road in the centre of the village.
Both vehicles ended up colliding with a wall outside St Mary and St Rhadegund church.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the occupants of one of the vehicles were reported to have left the scene.
No injuries have been reported to the emergency services.
The spokesperson added: "We are conducting enquiries to establish what happened and who was involved."
