The Isle of Wight's floating bridge is to be suspended for a short period on Thursday, August 22.
It's understood a prow pin has become lose and needs replacing.
The Cowes to East Cowes chain ferry will be off between 10am and 12pm on Thursday, while works are undertaken.
A foot passenger launch service, the Jenny Lee, will run in its place.
