INEOS Britannia — the British team racing in the 37th America’s Cup, led by Isle of Wight sailor Sir Ben Ainslie — ended the second of the three-day Louis Vuitton Cup semi-final in Barcelona moving a step closer to the final.
Ainslie's team notched up two more wins against the Swiss team, Alinghi Red Bull Racing.
The day began with a tense moment between the Brits and the Swiss in the pre-start, with Ainslie’s crew having to take quick action to avoid a collision between the two AC75 race boats.
The British team stayed calm and collected to execute a 'slam gybe' away, before accelerating across the start line.

INEOS Britannia finished that race with a 2,300m lead, then beat the Swiss by 1,000m in the next race.
Ainslie, of Seaview, is not the only Islander on board Britannia. Leigh McMillan, the crew's flight controller, was born and grew up on the Island.
After winning four out of four races against Alinghi Red Bull Racing, the Brits now need to win one more race to secure their spot in the Louis Vuitton Cup final — the prize being a final spot against the America's Cup favourites, holders New Zealand.
Ainslie said: “I thought at one point we might have been going on-board the Swiss boat, but thankfully we managed to keep the boats apart and the guys did a great job keeping the boat up on the foils.
"We managed to get ahead and sail a nice race, but it certainly gave us some action.
"We are really pleased with our performance but there’s still things we can improve on. We are working really hard to try to get one more win, to make sure we are in that final.”
INEOS Britannia will race Alinghi Red Bull Racing again today (Monday, September 16).
The Louis Vuitton Cup final will be held between September 26 and October 7.
Racing resumes from 1pm, and can be viewed live on TNT Sports.
