The much-loved owners of a popular Isle of Wight pub have announced they will leave when the lease expires next month.
Tim and Emma Foster took over The Taverners in Godshill in 2019, maintaining what made the pub unique and creating a comfortable and inviting place to relax and enjoy a meal and a drink.
The couple had previously run The Three Buoys in Appley, which they opened in May 2013 but left in 2020 to focus on The Taverners.
celebrated The Taverners being named the best of the Island at The National Pub and Bar Awards.

The lease for The Taverners expires on October 5.
In a post on the pub’s Facebook page, Tim and Emma said they started their first business with newborn twins, and now that the children are in high school, they want to focus on being there for them.
Tim and Emma said: “Running The Taverners and Three Buoys has been an incredible journey filled with amazing friendships and unforgettable memories. We are truly grateful for the support of everyone over the years.
“As we prepare to close this chapter, we would love for you to join us in saying goodbye over the next few weeks. Our final day will be Saturday, October 5, for lunch service.
“We can't wait to see you all soon!”
Many patrons, past and present, have taken to social media to share their sadness at the news and wish the couple the best of luck for the future.
Well-wishers include The Yarbridge, who posted: "Such a hard decision to make, will miss you guys at The Taverners, all the best wishes for the future."
Any booked tables, quiz nights and Christmas party reservations beyond October 5 will remained scheduled, however, Tim and Emma will be in contact directly.
