An Isle of Wight man who crashed his car into a parked vehicle and a garden wall, and then failed to provide a specimen, has been sentenced.

Jason Warren, 54, of Grange Road, East Cowes, went before Isle of Wight magistrates and has now been banned from driving for 22 months.

He admitted one count of failing to provide a specimen for analysis at Newport Police Station.

Munayah Hassan, prosecuting, said Warren was driving on Cambridge Road, East Cowes on March 31.

He crashed his car into a parked vehicle and then a garden wall.

Court heard how Warren provided a breath reading at the roadside but when he was taken to custody, he failed on four occasions to give another reading.

Michael McGoldrick, defending, had argued that Warren did try but he suffers with his mental health and anxiety and being in a police station was stressful.

He said he is of good character and has no previous convictions.

As well as the driving ban, Warren was handed a community order until July 2025 to include alcohol treatment.

He was fined £120.
