POLICE have released an image of a man they would like to speak with to help with their inquiries following a shoplifting on the Isle of Wight last month.

After a man paid for £6.90 worth of items at Waitrose, on Well Street, East Cowes, it was discovered he also stole £320 of items from the store — an incident that happened at around 2.25pm on Tuesday, September 24.

"We’ve been carrying out various inquiries. The man pictured was seen in the store at the time and may be able to assist our investigation," a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said.

Anyone who knows who the man is, should call the police on 101, quoting crime reference number 44240419654.
