HAMPSHIRE’S plans for the new season — which could include top Isle of Wight players Jordan Sundborg and Conor Richards in their line-up — have been disrupted, with the first of the four South Division matches in the South East League already postponed because of coronavirus.

Hampshire’s trip to face Dorset at Broadstone on May 10 has been called off by the hosts, with plans to arrange the game later in the season.

New county captain, Neil Dawson, who took over in December, has also seen the first warm-up friendly of the season fall victim to government virus restrictions.

Also, the trip to play the Channel Islands, at Royal Jersey, over the weekend of April 25 and 26, is also off, along with the seniors’ match against Jersey, at Royal Jersey and La Moye, on April 27 and 28.

Dawson will now have to reassess his plans before the first of the other three matches against Kent — due to take place at Hockley at the end of next month.
