                                   ISLE OF WIGHT SYNCHRONISED SKATERS
THE Isle of Wight Synchronised Skaters showed no hangover from Covid by bringing home a clutch of medals at the prestigious annual Steel City Trophy contest in Sheffield.

The Wight Sequins — one of four Island teams performing at the event and all coached by Terri Smith — won the gold medal in the juvenile category with their Village People routine. 

The Wight Crystals won the silver medal in the Junior B category with their Me and My Girl routine, while the Wight Jewels earned a bronze medal in the Senior B class.

Newly-reformed adult team, the Wight Diamonds, came a creditable seventh from 11 teams, despite it being their first-ever competition, with very little practice under their belts.

They performed a routine to the music of Take That.

The Wight Jewels gained bronze in the Junior B category with their samba routine.

The group’s new coach, from the Island, Roxi Collins, competed in the senior category for Nottingham and won gold.
