ALL THREE of the Isle of Wight's Wessex League clubs are in action tonight (Tuesday).
Newport are two games away from reaching the Isle of Wight Senior (Gold) Cup final — but they won't find it easy against Island League Division 1 side Whitecroft and Barton Sports at Smallbrook Stadium.
Port, the defending Gold Cup champions, are top of Division 1 of the Wessex League, fresh from beating one of their serious rivals for automatic promotion, Andover New Street, 4-0 on Saturday.
W&B are lying second in Division 1 of the Island League, with an incredible record of only four points dropped all season.
All the ingredients for an excellent cup tie.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm.
In the Wessex Premier, Cowes Sports have a huge six-pointer against United Services Portsmouth, who sit a place below them in 15th and with a game in hand on the Yachtsmen.
Cowes go into the game with confidence afte two wins on the bounce and three in their last four league games, which has seen them inch closer to mid-table safety.
Kick-off 8pm.
In Division 1 of the Wessex League, East Cowes Vics face mid-table Romsey Town on the road.
Vics, five positions of the bottom, need to get back on track after losing their last two games after they went on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league.
Back in November when the teams last met, Vics were humiliated 6-1 at Beatrice Avenue, so will be keen to exact revenge on Romsey tonight.
Kick-off 8pm.
