The Isle of Wight's Dan Eckersley will represent Great Britain at the European Masters Championships in Pescara, Italy, later this month.
Meanwhile, member of the Ryde Harriers club, Dan, has already been named British Masters Champion.
Winning his first Masters title at the weekend, he raced to a meeting record time of 9:14.34.
Disappointingly, however, it will not count, due to a controversy in the M35 Steeplechase.
A barrier was not moved into place in time.
On Twitter, Dan wrote: "Would’ve been a huge season best but we ran 34 not 35 barriers.
"Massively frustrating.
"Still, you can’t take the medal or the form away and it puts me in a great position for the Europeans in Pescara in three weeks."
