Wessex League club Newport has confirmed two signings this week, with prolific striker Joe Craig re-signing and another exciting forward joining the roster.
Expected to be a huge influence on and off the pitch, Joe Craig is a versatile forward who adds more depth to the Newport squad.
Craig has been a key player for Newport for several seasons, scoring 42 goals in 66 appearances across the last two seasons.
Most recently, Joe scored the two goals that secured the bronze medal for the Island's football team at the Island Games against Bermuda.
John Davies, Newport chair, said: "We are delighted to welcome Joe back to Newport. Joe's signing is a further endorsement of the club's management, and I am sure it will give supporters a lift."
Earlier in the week, Port announced the signing of hard-working forward Nicky Vyse.
In his mid-20s and joining from Shanklin, Vyse is an experienced Island League player, having previously played for Northwood and Cowes Sports.
A spokesperson from Port said: "Although unproven at Wessex League level, Vyce is an exciting player who adds real depth to the Newport squad.
"We hope that Vyse won't be the only new face to join Newport in the coming weeks."
Newport are in Wessex League Division 1 action against Fawley AFC at Beatrice Avenue tomorrow (Saturday), kick-off at 2.45pm.
