ONE of the Isle of Wight’s most competitive football sides were dumped out of a cup competition after conceding four goals inside the opening 25 minutes.

East Cowes Vics travelled to the Snows Stadium to take on AFC Totton in the third round of the Hampshire Senior Cup tonight (Wednesday).

Kicking off at 7.45pm, Totton took the lead inside the opening three minutes – a long ball down the left, squared to Alfie Stanley who fired into an open net.

The Vics conceded a second goal ten minutes thereafter, and a third four minutes later.

The hosts netted a fourth on 22 minutes and spurned a huge chance to score a fifth soon after.

At the break, the Vics found themselves trailing by six goals – two further additions on minutes 27 and 35.

In the second half, Totton truly put the Islanders to the sword – scoring goal number seven three minutes in to apply some further gloss to the scoreline.
