East Cowes Vics slumped to a 3-0 away defeat at the hands of promotion-chasers Millbrook this evening (Tuesday).
Midtable Vics travelled to their fifth-placed opponents sitting tenth in Wessex League Division 1.
They went into tonight's clash off the back of a 2-2 draw with table toppers, Hamworthy at the weekend.
Things got off to a bad start for the away side, however. An own goal saw them 1-0 down with just two minutes on the clock.
As the game went on, their luck didn't improve.
Millbrook doubled their lead in the 42nd minute. A cross from Ayuba nestled into the top corner.
At half-time, the Vics were 2-0 down. And it was a similar story after the break.
With 60 minutes played, O'Connell made it 3-0 to the hosts.
To compound the away side's misery, Vics had Rafferty Boyd-Kerr sent off on the 70 minute mark.
Final score: Millbrook 3-0 East Cowes Vics.
